On this excursion, we will be journeying from prehistory to the present day, learning about the different cultures that have helped to construct the history of this wonderful town of Antequera.
Our journey will begin at the Dolmens, where we can see how the first civilisations lived. We continue the route to the centre of Antequera to learn about the cultural heritage left by the Romans, Muslims and Christians. We will discover the techniques used by the Romans to turn the natural springs into thermal baths for their leisure. We can take in the magnificent views from the imposing Alcazaba or Citadel and learn its fabulous history.
We shall see real treasures of Christianity, like the Church of Our Lady of Carmen, the Bethlehem Convent and the Royal Collegiate Church of Saint Mary Major. We round it off by enjoying examples of the traditional local foods and cooking of Antequera.
